The First Court of Appeals is located in Houston, Texas.  The Court consists of one chief justice and eight associate justices who hear appeals and original proceedings involving civil, criminal, probate, and family matters from ten counties:  Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Grimes, Harris, Waller, and Washington.
